Undergraduate program of Zhejiang University: Zhejiang Government Scholarship 2026

Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship for International Students” is a program established by the Zhejiang Provincial Government in 2009 to attract more international students to study and engage in scientific research at higher education institutions in Zhejiang.

The scholarship aims to enhance the quality of international students’ education, improve their academic experience, and promote greater understanding and friendship between international students and Zhejiang.

I. Application Period

December 1, 2025 – February 28, 2026

For the Chinese Language (International Students) program, the application deadline is May 31, 2026. The scholarship application deadline for this program is also May 31, 2026.

All dates and times mentioned above are based on Beijing Time and are inclusive of the specified dates.

  1. Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for international undergraduate admission to Zhejiang University. Please refer to the Zhejiang University 2026 International Student (Undergraduate) Admissions Guide.
  2. Applicants must apply for Chinese-taught undergraduate programs.
  3. Applicants must demonstrate a serious attitude toward learning and research, with excellent academic performance.
  4. Applicants must not be recipients of any other types of scholarships simultaneously.

The scholarship provides RMB 20,000 per year and is awarded for one year. Recipients with outstanding academic performance and overall excellence during the scholarship period may apply for renewal.

Applicants must complete the online application through the Zhejiang University International Student Application System (Link). In addition to the documents required in the Undergraduate Admissions Guide, applicants must submit the “Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship Application Form for International Students” (click to download the file).

The university will conduct an initial review of application materials. Applicants who pass the initial review will proceed to the video interview stage conducted by the relevant academic departments. Admission decisions will be based on a comprehensive evaluation of the applicant’s materials and interview performance. The university will determine whether to recommend applicants as candidates for the Zhejiang Provincial Government Scholarship. Applicants may check their application results through the Zhejiang University International Student Application System (Link).

  1. Scholarship recipients who are unable to enroll due to health or other personal reasons will have their admission and scholarship eligibility revoked.
  2. Scholarship recipients who are unable to continue their studies due to health or other personal reasons and need to apply for a suspension or withdrawal will not retain their scholarship eligibility.
  3. These provisions are interpreted by the International Education College of Zhejiang University.

Study at Beijing University: Chinese Government Scholarship Bilateral Program 2026

According to Peking University’s 2026 admission requirements, applicants who wish to enroll through the Chinese Government Scholarship Bilateral Program (Type A) must submit their admission application to Peking University before applying for the scholarship. After passing the initial eligibility examination, applicants can download a certificate from the application system. This certificate is needed by the applicant when applying for the Chinese Government Scholarship Bilateral Program (Type A). Please note that this certificate is not the final admission results.

Postgraduate Program

General Visiting Student Program (please apply between December 1, 2025 and February 15, 2026)

  1. Read the application information of the program you are interested in being admitted to and prepare your application materials.
  2. Log in to the online service system for international students at Peking University (http://www.studyatpku.com) to complete your online application and pay the application fee.
  3. Applicants who pass the initial examination to determine admission eligibility can download a certificate from the application system. The certificate can be downloaded either through the “Home” portal or the “Registration Result Query” portal.

Undergraduate/Yuke student certificate availability period: undetermined;
Postgraduate student certificate availability period: November 1, 2025 – February 23, 2026;
Visiting student certificate availability period: January 1, 2026 – February 28, 2026.

4. Submit the application for the Chinese Government Scholarship Bilateral Program (Type A) together with the certificate to the scholarship application processing authorities.

  1. You should follow the application schedule and deadlines announced by Chinese Government Scholarship Bilateral Program (Type A) application processing authorities.
  2. To apply for undergraduate programs taught in Chinese, applicants should have passed HSK Level 6 (with over 210 points) or have reached a corresponding Chinese level. If not, applicants are recommended to apply for the Yuke/Pre-university Program (see 2025’s application information; 2026’s application information will be released soon).
  3. Some Master’s degree programs at Peking University are taught in English and do not have Chinese language proficiency requirements. Applicants can click to view the application information for English-taught Master’s programs. The tuition fees for English-taught programs can be found in each program’s application information. Please note that the Chinese Government Scholarship does not fully cover the tuition fees for these English-taught programs, and the scholarship recipients must pay the difference.
  4. Some Peking University doctoral programs in science and engineering provide instruction in English. Applicants can click to view Admissions Directory for English-taught Doctoral Programs. Please search the relevant department website to find the contact information of your preferred professors, and then directly contact those professors for consultation.
  5. Enrolled students (not including those who will be graduating in 2026) can submit their scholarship application with a certificate of enrollment or admission notification (in electronic form) to the scholarship application processing authorities.
  6. Applicants for the Senior Visiting Student Program should email visiting@pku.edu.cn with the subject “Application for Chinese Government Scholarship Bilateral Program (Type A)”.
  7. Applicants for the General Visiting Student Program who intend to apply through interschool or interdepartmental exchange do not need to follow this notice. Please contact the university you attend to obtain a nomination letter, which should then be submitted to the scholarship application processing authorities.
