Short Course on Digital Readiness and Resilience of TVET Systems in Australia (May 2025)

Overview

The Australian Government, through its ASEAN-Australia Short Courses program and the Future Skills initiative, is inviting applications for a short course on Improving the Digital Readiness and Resilience of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Systems. This two-week course will be delivered in Australia in May 2025 and will focus on enhancing digital learning and system resilience in TVET across ASEAN countries.

Key Objectives

Participants will:

  • Understand challenges and quality assurance issues in digital TVET delivery.
  • Identify suitable infrastructure investments for digital TVET systems.
  • Explore mechanisms to upskill TVET teachers for digital learning.
  • Learn to develop and maintain online learning resources.
  • Promote safe and responsible ICT use in education, emphasizing cybersecurity and data privacy.
  • Location: Australia
  • Duration: Two weeks in May 2025
  • Format: Workshops, training sessions, panel discussions, site visits, networking, and a graduation reception.
  • Participants: 25 representatives from ASEAN countries, including government officials, TVET providers, industry associations, and universities.

Applicants must:

  1. Be citizens of ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam).
  2. Have at least four years of experience in relevant fields (e.g., government, TVET, universities, or industry associations).
  3. Work in a role related to developing or using digital technologies in TVET or formulating policies for digital TVET.
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in English, assessed through a phone interview or proof of studies/work in English.
  5. Have their supervisor endorse their application.
  6. Commit to active participation, networking, and sharing knowledge gained from the course.

    • CV outlining roles and responsibilities in the TVET sector.
    • Proof of English proficiency (if applicable).
  • Selection: Competitive process, including a short phone interview in February 2025.
