The ASEAN Youth Economic Forum (AYEF) 2024 intends to boost the interaction of all the key players in the agricultural value chain such as the government, private firms, and international development organizations. This year ASEAN Youth Organization co-organizing the AYEF 2024 with the Mekong Institute, an intergovernmental organization that focus on strengthening the regional cooperation and integration in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS).
The activity will be an excellent platform to go over the prevalent issues relating to food insecurity and sustainable agriculture and identify ways to best equip the youth in addressing it. This will serve as a valuable activity for raising the awareness and involvement of youths in food security that would contribute in addressing the multifaceted challenges in the global food system. With the participation of stakeholders from ASEAN, Japan and the Mekong Institute and supported by the AMEICC (AEM – METI Economic and Industrial Cooperation Committee), the Ministry of Economic, Trade, Industry of Japan, and the ASEAN Secretariat, the AYEF 2024 will become a robust forum for interactive learning, useful, fun and impressionable.
The AYEF 2024 program attempts to provide young leaders of ASEAN and Japan with the opportunity to directly engage, collaborate, and work hand-in-hand towards strengthening closer ties between the two regions.

This online course introduces learners to the Basic Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security. It will provide insight holistically. After the completion of the course & passing the minimum grade points, you will receive an authorized e-certificate from ASEAN Youth Organization. All Applicants for AYEF 2024 Fully/Partial Funded delegates are REQUIRED to take this course before submit the application.
Full program of AYEF 2024 will start from 3 April 2024 and will end on 6 April 2024. AYEF 2024 will invite around 25 young professionals, policymakers, researchers, economists, government officials, and/or university students from ASEAN and Japan.
The program will consist of the public forum, policy dialogue, networking, workshops, and site visit. Youth Leaders and Professionals from Japan and all ASEAN countries with work expertise, study focus or volunteering experience in sustainable development, agriculture or food security, and youth leadership are encouraged to apply. AYEF 2024 will provide scholarships (FULLY FUNDED) for 20 delegates and Partial Funded for 5 delegates.
Fully Funded Type will include: Return flight tickets (Departure must from/to one of ASEAN Countries or Japan), program and activities, hotel, meeting package, meals during the program, merchandise, airport transfer, and local transportation.
Partial Funded Type will include: Program and Activities, hotel, meeting package, meals during the program, merchandise, airport transfer, and local transportation.

AYEF Public Forum will be a full day event and will be attended by many professional and experts, government institutions, and high level speakers. This Public Forum will be opened for public for any nationalities. Registration before the forum is required and only registered persons are allowed to enter the forum.
This forum is limited to 100 public participants (On-site participation). Lunch, coffee break, and merchandise will be provided by Organizer.

On 8 August 1967, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was established to promote regional cooperation in the spirit of equality and partnership. The establishment of ASEAN was also aimed to contribute towards creating peace, prosperity, and social integration in the region through the collaborative efforts of its member states. In achieving its objectives, ASEAN also opened up opportunities to cooperate with other countries outside this regional cooperation through collaborating with dialogue partners.
ASEAN Youth Economic Forum is one of ASEAN Youth Organization’s signature program that focus on promoting the youth inclusivity in the economic development area. This program is annually organized by the ASEAN Youth Organization and other partners. AYEF allows the youth generation to improve their understanding on business culture, landscape, and sustainability as well as expanding their networks to ASEAN and beyond.
Not only that, AYEF is also promotes the youth involvement on policy recommendation making process and presented to the Senior Economic Official Meeting (SEOM) and supporting the ASEAN Work Plan on Youth key priorities Participation and Engagement.
