Budapest, Hungary – Shabil Syach Pachlefi (Jau), representing the ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO), recently participated in the Asia-Europe Training Seminar on Youth, Digitalisation, and Intercultural Dialogue. Held in Budapest, Hungary, this engaging program brought together 38 young leaders from 35 countries for insightful discussions, valuable networking, and enriching cultural exchange.

The training seminar, organized in partnership with the Council of Europe Youth Department and hosted at the Council of Europe Youth Centre Budapest, offered a dynamic platform to explore the evolving landscape of leadership and Society 5.0. Through interactive workshops and dialogues, participants examined the impact of digitalization on society and the crucial role of young people in shaping its future direction.

A significant highlight was the Senior-Junior Leadership Dialogues, which facilitated direct engagement between participants and experienced ambassadors and diplomats. These conversations provided valuable perspectives on diverse national and regional approaches to leadership and Society 5.0, fostering a deeper understanding of global challenges and opportunities.

To further enhance the learning experience, participants connected with representatives from Hungary’s vibrant local youth ecosystem. These interactions offered firsthand insights into innovative local initiatives and approaches within the Hungarian youth sector.

A study visit to Ludovika University of Public Service offered inspiring real-world examples and practical case studies, effectively contextualizing the theoretical knowledge gained during the training. Participants observed firsthand how academic institutions are adapting to the opportunities and challenges of the digital age.

The training seminar also emphasized the importance of intercultural exchange, both within the local Hungarian context and among the diverse group of participants. Shared cultural activities and interactions promoted mutual understanding, empathy, and the development of lasting connections.
