Many persons with disabilities in general face discrimination and restrictions to finding employment based on their skills and experiences. This is proven by only 30 percent of all persons with disabilities have enough income for self-support in the Asia-Pacific region. One of the many ways that one can do to tackle this issue is by creating new leaders to be able to advocate for the rights of persons with disabilities i.e. the right to have an inclusive workplace or the right to have the same work opportunities. With that being said, AYO believes that this could be achieved in a form of training on digital advocacy. Digital advocacy is the use of digital technology to contact, inform, and mobilize a group of concerned people around an issue or cause.

By creating a training program focusing on inclusive digital advocacy for advocating persons with disabilities, we are creating a project with a big influence as we are creating leaders who would be able to produce more leaders and result in a bigger and more sustainable positive impact. This training program targets youths from 10 ASEAN member states with different backgrounds who are interested in digital advocacy and particularly disabilities issues. It aims to improve the soft skills of young people in conducting inclusive digital advocacy activities specifically about disabilities issues and increasing the knowledge of young advocates on inclusive digital advocacy.
