The KNB Scholarship, officially known as the Kemitraan Negara Berkembang Scholarship, is a Indonesian government initiative providing full financial support for international students from developing countries to pursue bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees at 34 participating Indonesian universities. Established in 1992 during the Non-Aligned Movement summit, it initially served NAM countries but expanded globally in 2002 to include developing nations across Asia, Africa, South America, and Eastern Europe.

200 available slots for 2025 across all degree levels

Benefits
Indonesian government will cover following financial needs of the students:
Settling Allowance of IRD1250000 will be given to students upon arrival of Indonesia.
Students will get language course while taking this course they will get IDR 2550,000 living Allowance per month
Whole Scholarship per month will be divided for three causes:
- Living Allowance IDR 2,550,000
- Research Allowance IDR 400,000
- Books Allowance IDR 350,000
In case of any mishappening KDR scholarship also give health insurance of IDR 200,000.
International Airfare for the students will also be cover as it will bear the cost of transport from students’ home countries to Indonesia.

Eligibility Criteria
There is following eligibility criteria is mention for the students who wants to apply in KNB Scholarship
- Language required to apply in KNB Scholarship should be English.
- Allover the world countries can apply
- Candidates must passed IELTS or TOEFL exam to apply on this scholarship program
- Undergraduate: Have the English Proficiency Test Score as follows: IBT TOEFL of 80, IELTS of 6.0, TOEIC of 700.
- Masters: IELTS score should be 6.0 and TOEFL score should be a minimum of 80 and TOEFL score of the student should be 700 and student have a certificate of within the 2 years.
- Doctorate: Have a TOEFL or IELTS (or other certified English Proficiency Test) score of 90 TOEFL IBT or 7.0 IELTS or equivalent (the certificate must be obtained within the last 2 Years).
Requirement
Each study program has different requirements to apply in this scholarship which we will be mentioned below
Undergraduates:
- The age of the Candidate should be 25 years.
- Must have a high school degree before applying.
- A recommendation letter from the Indonesian embassy or Indonesian Consulate General must submit along with other documents
- An academic recommendation letter from the previous institute must provide to the organization
- Recommendation letter from employer/ supervisor also needed for applying in KNB Scholarship
- Candidate must have updated Visa/Passport

Master Degree:
- The maximum age of students should be 35 years.
- Students should Possess at least Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree holders are not eligible for this scholarship.
- IELTS score should be 6.0 and TOEFL score should be a minimum of 80 and the TOEIC score of the student should be 700.
- A recommendation letter from the Indonesian embassy or Indonesian Consulate General must submit along with other documents
- An academic recommendation letter from the previous institute must provide to the organization
- Recommendation letter from employer/ supervisor also needed for applying in KNB Scholarship
- Candidate must have updated Visa/Passport

Ph.D. Program:
- The maximum age for applying for this scholarship is 40 years.
- Candidates must possess a Master’s degree, Candidate who already enrolled in doctorate degree is not eligible
- The candidate must acquire a recommendation letter from a supervisor from one of the research universities which is a partner of KNB scholarship
- Statement of purpose required from the student which explains the purpose of studies and why they are interested studying in Indonesia for KNB scholarship.
- Candidates must have IELTS, TOEFL, or another English proficiency test, and in IELTS candidates must score 7.0 and 90 in TOEFL, and certificates must obtain within the last 2 years.

- Nomination letter from the respective government official (Ministry of
- Education, other related Government Agency – should the applicant works
- for the Government Agency, or Embassy of the Applicant’s Country of Origin
