This three-part training workshop, led by GNWP with support from Global Affairs Canada’s Peace and Stability Operations, offers a comprehensive program to empower women and youth peacebuilders, particularly in conflict-affected areas, through diplomacy and advocacy skills. The workshop is tailored for young women involved in advocacy for peace, human rights, and humanitarian law, as well as those studying related fields like International Relations and Political Science.
Participants will gain skills in diplomacy, understand mechanisms within the UN and ASEAN, and develop strategies to address conflicts, especially those impacting marginalized groups like the Rohingyas, Burmese, and Karens. The program spans over three workshops: two online in November 2024 and January 2025, followed by an in-person session in Jakarta in February 2025.
Criteria for participation include experience in peace-related advocacy, English proficiency, and a commitment to attending all sessions and applying the learned skills within their networks. Selected participants will be reimbursed for travel and accommodation for the in-person workshop, with a small honorarium provided.
