The DAAD Scholarships for Master Studies in Germany are designed to support international students in pursuing postgraduate degrees in Germany. These scholarships offer financial support and other benefits to help students succeed in their academic endeavors..

The primary aim is to provide international students with the opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree at a German higher education institution, enhancing their academic and professional development.

  • To allow you to improve your language skills in preparation for your stay in Germany, the DAAD offers the following benefits:
    • Payment of course fees for an online language course after receipt of the Scholarship Award Letter
    • if necessary: German language course (2, 4 or 6 months) before the start of the study visit in Germany; the DAAD decides whether to fund participation and for how long depending on German language skills and project. Participation in a language course is compulsory if the study programme is taught in German.
    • Allowance for a personally chosen German language course during the scholarship period
    • Reimbursement of the fee for a TestDaF or DSH test, which you can take either in your home country after you have received your Letter of Award or in Germany during your funding period.
  • Have completed their Bachelor’s degree within the past 6 years.
  • Not be residing in Germany for 15 months when applying for this scholarship.
  • Provide proof of language proficiency (German or English).
  • Meet the eligibility criteria of this program.
  • Do not submit an incomplete application.
  1. Apply to a German university study program first.
  2. Applicants must receive admission notification from the host university before applying for a DAAD scholarship 2025.
  3. Mention the name of the host university in your application.
  4. You will receive a scholarship award letter from DAAD.
  5. Log in to the DAAD portal with your email and password.
  6. Fill in the details asked in the application form.
  7. Upload all the required documents.
  8. Review and submit your form.
