The ASEAN-Japan Centre has partnered with the ASEAN Youth Organization to implement the AJYELN Environmental Leadership and Project Management Training program in 2024, as part of the ASEAN-Japan Young Environmental Leaders Network Program organized by the Center. The training program aims to equip the selected 33 AJYELN fellows with project management skills to implement their environmental initiatives, enhance their awareness of global and national plastic pollution and marine plastic waste issues, and undergo upskilling to maximize their advocacy potential.
To raise awareness among the selected AJYELN fellows about the current issue of plastic pollution and marine plastic waste and ASEAN–Japan strategies to solve them;
To develop project management skills in implementing their environmental projects in their targeted local communities;
To share knowledge and best practices on how youths participate meaningfully in overcoming environmental issues, particularly on plastic pollution and marine plastic waste in their local communities;
To provide a platform for ASEAN youths to collaborate, cooperate and learn from each other on addressing environmental issues.
