A signature program of the ASEAN Youth Organizations that aims to expand the horizons of the youth in their network, leadership, and community services. The AYO Ambassador Program aims to establish an ASEAN-wide network of youths, who will be at the forefront of outreach in a designated region. By implementing projects under the support of the ASEAN Youth Organization, ambassadors have responsibility for fulfilling their duties as AYO Ambassadors, including but not limited to running several projects related to the ASEAN Youth Development Index (AYDI), attending training conducted by the ASEAN Youth Organization, participating in and disseminating AYO events through numerous ways such as introducing AYO in relevant activities, publishing AYO activities on the social media platforms, etc.
Throughout the six-month program, the 116 selected ambassadors will be required to carry out two major initiatives such as implementing individual projects, actively supporting their allocated AYO Chapters and AYO affiliates activities and be able to create an impact towards their targeted community. The individual project is intended to serve as a stepping stone for ambassadors to impact and collaborate with their assigned AYO Chapters and AYO affiliates initiatives, in accordance with the ambassador’s specified advocacy alignment with the ASEAN Youth Development Index.
