
Solidarity in Sport and History: ASEAN-China Youth Table Tennis Camp & Zhou Enlai Picture Exhibition
On April 19, 2025, in celebration of the 75th anniversary of China-Indonesia diplomatic relations and the 70th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference, the event “Dreams of the Youth and Friendship through Table Tennis: China-ASEAN (Indonesia) Table Tennis Training Camp for the Youth & Solidarity, Friendship and Cooperation: An Exhibition of Pictures of Zhou Enlai and the Bandung Conference” officially opened at Landmark Pluit, Jakarta, Indonesia.
Guided by the Chinese Embassy in Indonesia and jointly organized by the Enlai Foundation, the ASEAN-China Centre, the Memorial to Zhou Enlai and Deng Yingchao, China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, and Beijing One Heart Sphere Charity Foundation, supported by the ASEAN Youth Organization and overseas Chinese communities, the event aims to strengthen China-ASEAN friendship through sports and historical legacy.

At 10:30 AM Jakarta Time, the opening ceremony commenced. Distinguished guests delivered speeches and emphasized the event’s role in fostering youth friendship through the picture exhibition and table tennis camp, inspiring the younger generation to uphold the Bandung Spirit and deepen mutual understanding.

After the opening ceremony, all guests visited the Picture exhibition venue. The Picture Exhibition “Unity, Friendship, Cooperation—Zhou Enlai & the Bandung Conference” vividly showcased Premier Zhou Enlai’s historic “Seek Common Ground While Reserving Differences” diplomacy, which won global acclaim and reshaped China’s foreign relations. In the afternoon, 12 Chinese students from Sichuan Bachuan Middle School’s “Zhou Enlai Class” and 12 Indonesian students from Tzu Chi School joined the table tennis competition which was concluded with awards presented by Chief International Referee Gu Xinyi. This event successfully concluded, reinforcing China-ASEAN cooperation through culture, sports, and shared history.
