Advancing Fitness-Tech Cooperation at the 3rd China-ASEAN International Conference on Physical Fitness and Health Promotion

The 3rd China-ASEAN International Conference on Physical Fitness and Health Promotion opened in Nanning on December 6. As a key event under the 2025 China-ASEAN Year of People-to-People Exchanges, It attracted nearly a thousand leaders, experts, and scholars from the International Olympic Committee, the Asian Mass Sports Association, ASEAN countries, and regions such as the United States and Australia. Participants focused on cutting-edge fields such as physical fitness assessment, scientific fitness, data sharing, and artificial intelligence, deepening regional cooperation in sports science and technology.

The conference highlighted China’s national fitness practices and proposed a collaborative vision with ASEAN to build a shared fitness monitoring system, exchange resources, and integrate sports with health initiatives, jointly advancing the “Healthy Silk Road“. A total of 3,582 papers were submitted, with 1,235 accepted for presentation.

The opening ceremony of the 3rd China-ASEAN International Conference

Several strategic agreements were signed during the opening ceremony, including:

1) A partnership between the China Institute of Sport Science and the Guangxi Sports Bureau to develop a health innovation demonstration zone serving ASEAN and beyond.
2) Sports technology cooperation agreements with institutions from Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
3) An agreement with the International Olympic Committee’s Olympism365 unit to integrate Olympic values into regional health promotion.

Notable highlights of the conference included:

1) A visit to the “邕BA” playoffs in Nanning, showcasing the vibrancy of grassroots sports.
2) The release of a trailer for China’s first short-drama “Fat to Fit: An Ancient Weight Revolution” on scientific fitness, introducing a new model for health education through short-form content.
3) The global launch of the “CISS NationFit AI” large model, offering an intelligent, full-process fitness service system.

The conference strengthened China-ASEAN cooperation in sports science and technology, underscoring the role of sports in fostering cultural exchange and building a community with a shared future for humanity.

Call for Papers for the 3rd China-ASEAN International Conference on Physical Fitness and Health

2025 marks the Year of People-to-People Exchanges of ASEAN-China. To continuously enhance the international influence of China’s sports science and deepen research cooperation with ASEAN countries while promoting cultural exchange, the China Institute of Sport Science, the Sports Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the China Sport Science Society, and the ASEAN-China Centre will jointly host the 3rd China-ASEAN International Conference on Physical Fitness and Health Promotion from December 5 to 8, 2025 (UTC/GMT+08:00), in Nanning, Guangxi.

The theme of the Conference is “Integration and Innovation in Physical Fitness, Health Cooperation for Mutual Benefit.” It aims to exchange cutting-edge theories, innovative technologies, and practical models related to physical fitness and health promotion. We invite scholars from around the world to submit papers. The conference will feature keynote speeches, oral presentations, mini-symposia, and  poster presentations for academic exchange and discussion.

(7) Implementation pathways and international experiences of deep integration of national fitness and health;
(8) Active health and sports responses across the entire lifecycle;
(9) Research on the relationship between healthy lifestyles and physical fitness;
(10) Related studies on the integration of physical fitness and education;
(11) Applications of intelligent, digital, and wearable devices in health promotion through sports;
(12) Creation, dissemination, and application of health promotion through sports;
(13) Research on the dissemination of physical fitness and health culture;
(14) Studies related to the sports health industry and management;
(15) Other research related to physical fitness and health promotion;

(1) Manuscripts should be in Chinese or English.
(2) The information and results presented in the abstract should be based on recent research. The submitted paper must be independently completed by the author (or a research group), and has not been presented at an academic conference or published in a public journal.
(3) Abstracts must include the title, research objectives, methods, results, conclusions, and recommendations, without keywords or references, and should ideally be within 500 words with no tables or figures.
(4) Author information should be filled out on the website; submitted manuscripts should not include author information.
(5) Kindly refrain from incorporating confidential information into the paper. Please ensure the authenticity and objectivity of the content, and verify the author and organization information before submission. Once submitted, it cannot be modified.
(6) Each first author is limited to submit a maximum of 2 papers.

(1) Account Registration
Please visit the official website (https://asean2025.scimeeting.cn/), carefully read the registration guide, fill in the personal information accurately to complete the registration process. All information provided should be truthful and valid for future communication and confirmation.

(2) Submission
After registration, as the first author, you must submit your research by October 26, 2025, at 20:00 (UTC/GMT+08:00). Upon completion of the submission, a confirmation email will be automatically sent to your registered email to verify the submission.

(3) Acceptance
The organizing committee will establish an expert committee to review the submitted papers, with selections made based on merit. Authors of accepted papers will be notified via email. Outstanding papers among those accepted may be recommended for publication in prestigious Chinese journals. It is imperative that the conference registration fee be settled through the designated website (https://asean2025.scimeeting.cn/) prior to November 15, 2025, 20:00
(UTC/GMT+08:00).

Upon completion of the registration payment, your eligibility to attend the conference will be confirmed. The deadline for registration is November 15, 2025, at 20:00 (UTC/GMT+08:00). Log in to your personal account and you can check your registration status and payment history. Failure to pay by the due date will result in automatic removal of your paper from the conference proceedings.

After acceptance notifications are sent, prospective participants can log onto the website to register and pay (https://asean2025.scimeeting.cn/).

Scholarship for Conference

If you have submitted your paper and registered for the conference, simply fill out the below form, and selection will be based on merit. Selected candidate will receive partial scholarships including Hotel accommodation, programs, meals, local transportation, site visits. Recipient should cover their or own flights, visa (if needed) and personal expenses.

The scholarship application on AYO website will be closed on 15th November. The result will be announced within two week after the deadline.
