Young Talents Exchange and Capacity Development Program 2025

The Young Talents Exchange and Capacity Development Program (NEXUS) is now open for applications. This program is part of the Networked Exchange, United Strength for Stronger Partnerships between Japan and ASEAN, celebrating the 50th anniversary of friendship and cooperation between Japan and ASEAN. NEXUS leverages a long history of science and technology cooperation to support young talents through mutual exchanges.

The NEXUS program aims to foster the next generation of excellent researchers by promoting exchanges and building relationships between young talents in ASEAN and Japan. This program supports mutual exchanges in science and technology for students, researchers, and teachers who are 40 years old or younger, including high school students.

  • International Joint Research: Opportunities for collaborative research projects between Japan and ASEAN countries.
  • Researchers Exchange/Development: Programs that facilitate the exchange and development of researchers.
  • A Base: Establishing a base for long-term cooperative frameworks.

To be eligible for the NEXUS 2025 program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Age Requirement: Applicants must be 40 years old or younger.
  2. Nationality: Open to participants from Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Laos.
  3. Fields of Exchange: Science and technology (including natural sciences, humanities, and social sciences).

Applications for the NEXUS Young Talents Exchange and Capacity Development Program should be submitted by Japanese exchange organizations. The application forms are available only in Japanese.

Deadline: Applications must be submitted by 9 September 2024.
